Eyeko Mascara Review // LASH ALERT (2025)

Eyeko is a brand that has been popular in the pro-beauty community for a while now, and I’m a big fan of the products they make. Their Black Magic Eyeliner pen has been a staple in my kit for years so of course, when asked to test out the newest Eyeko mascara formula, Lash Alert, I jumped at the chance.

EYEKO LASH ALERT MASCARA // THE DETAILS

The Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara is marketed as mascara and lash treatment wrapped in one. With ingredients that nourish, stimulate and repair, the brand claims it will lift even the “sleepiest of lashes.”

The key ingredients in the Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara are:

  • Shea Butter for nourishment
  • Caffeine to stimulate
  • Arginine to repair
  • Biotinoyl Tripepetide to regenerate
  • Biotin to thicken
TUBING MASCARA

This Eyeko mascara is similar to their other formulas in that it is also a tubing formula.

If you’re not familiar with tubing mascaras, they are different than normal mascaras in the sense that they wrap polymer around your lashes (like a tube) as opposed to painting on coats of pigment. The result is a super even application that provides extra length and volume.

The Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara offers double dose of fibers with a water-resistant tubing formula. It’s said to lock in hold for 12+ hours, without running, smudging, flaking or crumbling.

EYEKO MASCARA PACKAGING

Eyeko has the most genius mascara packaging and why every the other brand has not followed suit is beyond me.

The Lash Alert Mascara (along with their other formulas) is in a tube which prevents you from wasting a ton of product. You can basically squeeze it out until it’s dry, like toothpaste.

A+ for packaging.

THE WAND

The first thing I noticed about the Lash Alert Mascara is that the wand is a lot thinner than the mascaras I’m used to.

I usually prefer a thicker, more dense wand because I like tons of volume, but I was pleasantly surprised at how well this little guy built up my lashes.

The fibers within the formula add volume, while the wand grabbed onto every lash, adding length and separation. The wand is also curved (which I love) and works to curl your lashes upward as you apply.

FORMULA AND COLOR

I’m a big fan of Korean beauty products and the Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara is created using award-winning Korean technology.

While this is a fiber mascara, the fibers in Lash Alert are found in the formula.. unlike with many fibre formulas which require multiple steps.

The color is a super inky carbon black. I love L’Oreal mascaras because they have a great range of different blacks and this is on par with their darkest shades.

APPLICATION AND WEAR

When applying the Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara, I use about 2-3 coats to build up my lashes in order to get them to the volume and length that I like. The wand allows for great separation, so adding more coats does not result in clumps.

It is said that you don’t need an eyelash curler with this mascara but while I noticed some slight curling action, I don’t think it’s enough to be able to skip curling all together.. especially if you have straight lashes.

The formula much less stiff than most waterproof mascaras so your lashes don’t feel like they’re going to snap off when you’re wearing it. Always a plus.

12 HOUR WEAR

The Lash Alert Mascara claims to retain color and hold for 12+ hours, so I first tested it out on a day where I knew I was booked on a 12-hour shoot.

I applied the mascara at 8am and went to work filming a new television show. It was not only crazy day, but it was also 100 degrees outside. I also had no time to look in the mirror, let alone touch myself up.

Around the 11th hour of shooting, most of my eye makeup had rubbed off but my lashes were surprisingly holding strong.

There was a single flake but no smearing or crumbling whatsoever. The volume had diminished a bit, but the color was there and my lashes still looked great. It was pretty incredible.

UPDATE

The Lash Alert Mascara really does last all day with very little need for touch ups. As my tube has gotten a little older, I have noticed a little more flaking toward the end of the day.

I have also not noticed a difference in the condition of my lashes even though the formula contains treatment-like ingredients.

A DIFFICULT REMOVAL

The only thing I dislike about this mascara is the removal process. They claim it is water resistant but I’d like to vouch for it being waterproof.

I’m used to being able to remove my mascara with a few swipes of Bioderma, but the Lash Alert Mascara takes a lot more work. Bioderma couldn’t touch this, so I had to break out an oil remover to get it off. Also since it is a tubing mascara, it comes off in flakes, rather than a smear.

Overall, I’m super happy with this Eyeko mascara. It gives my lashes tons of volume and drama but unfortunately because the removal process requires an extra step (and I’m super lazy), this won’t be an everyday formula for me.

I am going to save the Eyeko Lash Alert mascara for days when I need extra volume, or a super long lasting, water resistant formula.

KIT WORTHY?

Yes, I would purchase another one for my kit.

Since the Eyeko Lash Alert Mascara is difficult to remove, it limits my ability to use it in a range of different scenarios, especially when I’m doing a lot of look changes. However, it would be fantastic for special event or red carpet makeup because I have confidence in its ability to last all night with little maintenance.
